Good thoughts about Bill Buckley

While I think Mark Steyn did an outstanding job reviewing the life of Bill Buckley at the occasion of the first anniversary of his death http://www.steynonline.com/content/view/1837/30 - in the last sentence Mark again succumbed to the dreary never ending acceptance that there will be winners and losers in this battle when in fact the more likely outcome will be that there will only be losers – that’s us, who allowed ourselves to be lured into this equation by the prevailing thought of this fading age.

No one suspected that it’s all a mirage in favor of the politicians – when will we ever learn ? And if we are to follow Mark Steyn along his path we never will – not to speak of the even worse line-up on the left. So you’re saying why bother at all since everything’s going down the tube ?

Well that’s exactly my point – the powerful forces of the new paradigm will only be able to make themselves heard after the demise of our antiquated systems when the phoenix is ready for launch – in the mean time friends, let’s give a hand of applause to Mark – as disguise for the lesser evil – which at least will assure a gentler landing when the time has come.

Am I being obtuse ? You’re damn right I am ! – Just nobody tell me “I know exactly what you mean” but in case you think that you know, keep it to yourself till next we have a chance to share a glass or two.
